The exact person and
time that is responsible for the creation of
Tarot cards is not exactly known although it is
widely recognized that it was some time in the first
half of the fifteenth century, somewhere in northern
Italy, a person created the first deck of tarot
cards.
This first set was like the playing cards of that
time. This set included many of the characteristics
that appear on a normal set of playing cards.
The deck included numbered cards from 1 through to
10. As well as four suits, court cards, page,
knight, and king. In addition the tarot deck had
more. These extra cards included a queen which was
added to each of the courts.
